If you’ve answered “Write a blog,” you’re wrong: I haven’t made 10$ in six months and I finished college.

Remember my tip project? How tips are ripoff and such? My project might be long finished (with long overdue updates), but my stories aren’t. I got at least 40 quality stories to write, such as :

• How I got kicked out of a prestigious restaurant & barred for life.
• How I fought with a server over 0.50$
• How a server offered me to let him call from his cellphone (wtf?)
• How I got my pizza (un)delivered.
• How I ran away from a 260$ bill - before I even ate anything
• The 100% rules

Server in a bar, of course!

I was at a bar myself with some friends when one informed me his young sister was now working in a bar. She would work the busy thursday, tuesday, friday and saturday nights and live from the tips.

And guess how much she earnt?

Yup, 100$ per hour

100$ FUCKING DOLLARS PER HOUR

Untaxable. That’s like 250$ here (think I exagerate? 50% tax rates + retirement deduction (mandatory) 5% + various paycuts (mandatory) 5% and here’s what you have left. I’m actually generous: if you were an accountant earning 250$, you would probably pay in the 65-70% range, but let’s forget that for a second.

Of course, she’s a very, very sexy girl and she wears a sexy outfit, but can we all agree 100$ per hour is fucking ridiculous? She even told me her best night (perhaps 7pm to 3am) earnt her 1,000$. Her job is pretty easy: open a beer bottle, get a 1$ tip. Make a cocktail, get a 2$ tip. Get a pitcher, make 4$ tip. It goes quickly. And let me say it again: it’s non-taxable.

I can’t believe I am going through university to potentially make much less than her. She easily makes thousands per week. She could work for two years non-stop and basically retire on her money — at 20. Sometimes, I am sad I am not a girl with big breasts.

Keep laughing at my “tip project”. I’m sure you appreciate working your ass off in some shitty place for 15$ an hour at best — half of it going back to the government — while she works in bar for 15 times your wages. Even if you dislike my “Tip should die” projects, can we all agree 1$ to open a beer bottle is a fucking joke? Or that the fact that if you refuse to tip, the server basically spits in your cocktail (yes, I had it done to me, meters away from me)? People are hypocrits and stupid liars. Go back to work in some shitty office for 10% of your pay and then come back bitching.

I know not all servers make 100$ per hour. I know waiters in restaurant probably make less — probably 50-75$ from what I’ve seen — but STILL, can we all agree tipping is a joke and should die already? Hey, I had a valet, the guy who drives the ministers’ car, tell me his best tip was 100$. For driving a car two minutes. Un-freaking-believable. YES, I know tips should be declared to tax agencies, BUT WHO’S STUPID ENOUGH TO DO THAT?
