A Touching Moment
Posted on July 6th, 2008 No commentsI have a friend in university who is 29 exactly. About 11 years ago (he was around 18-19), he dated a really superb girl and, according to him, loved her more than he could ever love.
About 8 years ago, after 3 years together, she ended her life, suddenly. Naturally, this is far ago in time and I thought he overcame it. However, we were at a bar, trying to cruise some girls when he mentioned he would never date another girl ago, nor sleep/have sex with one.
He told me he loved that girl so much that any form of love he could feel afterwards would be meaningless. He told me having sex with another girl would be betraying his true love. Usually, I would understand but it was 8 years ago. So to save the face, I told him : “You haven’t had sex in 8 years?” and he answered me that he still loved that first girl and wouldn’t have sex for this very reason.
Normally, I wouldn’t make a big deal out of it… but this guy is 29. He’s not ugly, he’s quite smart, etc. I know he wasn’t kidding. My question is: is it possible to… feel that kind of love, so strong that you can never love another girl again? I wish I could feel something like that one day.
