Fuck you experts-exchange.com
Posted on December 8th, 2008 14 commentsIf there’s one thing I can’t stand right now, apart from my finals, it’s that damn fucking website that pop ups every fucking google search. Similar in shittinness to justanswer.com — charging you 15$ to link to a wikipedia article — experts-exchange.com is that crappy website that keeps popping every research or two. Seriously, do people really pay for that?
“What can i do to get enough clearance to remove the alternator
from my 2004 Aztec?”
UK car mechanic answered this question for 15$
Or how about this jewel:
I have a new (3 month old) laptop pc
with windows vista. I like to use Mozilla Firefox as my default browser. All has been good until last night. When I opened the MF browser it would not let me connect to urls on the web. IE browser works. I think the firwall is ok but not sure. email works ok. Can you help me fix this?
PC Hardware tech answered this question for 30$ (THIRTY BUCKS?!?! IS THIS A JOKE??)
Or what about this question simply answered with one page of reading?
got an ipod
nano(3) for my birthday. not knowing much about coomputers, I accidently downloaded all of my son’s songs from his i-tunes list. if I can, I would like to delete his songs (about 900) and start all over. Is this possible? if yes how can I do this?
PC Hardware tech answered this question for 9$ (Here’s how to get it for free: OPEN ITUNES)
There are people working hard for their money, and there’s justanswer.com. I’m sure one people could easily answer ALL these questions just with a bit of wikipedia. Seriously, I’d rather post my questions on yahoo answers for free than waste 30$ on a stupid answer from a so-qualified expert that can run Itunes and reinstall a program.
Back to experts-exchange.com. Notice the uncalled sexual innuendo in expertS-EXCHANGE.com inciting you dolts to waste 12.95$ per month on a stupid website giving valuable advices such as
Hotmail Login Page SLOW
Whether I log on to www.hotmail.com or http://login.passport.net/uilogin.srf?id=2 the Hotmail page goes through many different Urls and then the main login page of hotmail is displayed. It takes at least 30 seconds on my cable connection (256 kbps) blah blah blah blah blah I just wasted 10 bucks blah blah blah
Oh noes! Not hotmail loading slow! Why assume hotmail servers are simply busy and slow ( you know, overload, maintenance, new hardwares, upgrades, etc, happens!) when you can assume you are at fault and that your computer is going to explode? When you have too much money, why not? And look at the incredible experts answers:
On my 512Kbps machine, I took less than 5 seconds to load. I suspect your connection is poor. http://login.passport.net/uilogin.srf?id=2 seems to be the lowest level url.
hongjun
Perhaps you can consider “Automatically logged me in” option.
hongjun
Wow, invaluable advice, hongjun.
Experts-exchange: 12.95$ per month for what you can get on any support forum!
Now I understand why Microsoft and EA bitch about piracy: if you’re too cheap to pay 99$ for an OS or 49.95$ for a game — yet waste 12.95$ per month on a stupid “help” forum with so-called experts telling you to consider remaining logged — you’re stupid.
Seriously, I can’t believe how people waste their money. I didn’t look for ages to find this question. It was on the fucking front page. 394 views. There is a SLIGHT chance the problem is hotmail, NOT you, idiot.
You might wonder how I managed to get the answer. Was I stupid enough to waste my cash for that? Did I join the “Free 14-days Trial” that everybody forgets to cancel — a process as lengthy as calling your credit card company? No. Here’s the solution to view ANY experts-exchange “solution” for free.
- Download Firefox.
- Download and install this Firefox add-on
- Download this.
- Tools>User Agent Switcher > Options>Options>User Agents and Import the file on 3.
- In the same window, select “GoogleBot”, go to Edit, enter “GoogleBot” on first line and “Googlebot/2.1 (http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)” on second line. Leave the rest empty.
- Close everything. Go to Tools, Options, privacy tab, “expections” and block www.experts-exchange.com and experts-exchange.com from giving you cookies.
Tada! You now have every experts-exchange answer for free without falling in their scam. Credits.
But Frank, why bother over experts-exchange.com? Just ignore them and life will go well!
Here’s the key: I don’t mind the experts-exchange scam except for one thing: they always pop up on fucking Google searches. You could be searching for a solution to a javascript problem or looking for any tech-related question, find your exact question word for word in the title of the link only to click it and realize you’re on the fucking experts-exchange scam once again. When you’re coding or building a script, you look for quick answers and read once more the stupid scams on that gay website. There’s nothing pissing me off more than wasting even more time on going back after falling yet again on their website. It’s like a Rickrolling except that it’s really annoying.
Experts-exchange manage to get an excellent SEO score for rare keywords by allowing Google to index exact expressions, thus beating other free websites offering the same advice. Hey, the guy above offers you to check the option “Always logged”. Thank you, genius. Experts-exchange’s main strenght is their weakness because if Google can see it, so can you. Stop paying for these scams people, let them fail (I feel I’m asking too much here from you idiots). I wish Google would block this stupid website once and for all, or at least index only what is visible to everyone. I wish there was a way for me to block experts-exchange.com results once and for all.
Experts-exchange is a scam, nothing more. They make you find their pages through a search, hide the answer and force you to join their “14-days free trial” to view the answer. They hope that you’re too weak in search to find the answer by yourself and have a credit card nearby. The answers they offer are most of the time taken from other websites you were too lazy to look at or sometimes from the manual itself. I’ve even caught a guy copying Excel’s help - without giving credits of course. Keep paying and they’ll keep taking the money. Fuck off, don’t you have foreclosed houses to pay? Fuck you experts-exchange, you annoy the hell out of me.

Hey just so you know as well there is a way around doing all of that to get into their website, all you have to do is google experts-exchange expert register, thats what i did all you have to do is sign up as an expert, which is free, then you have access to all of the answers and you even get like a few points a day and can ask questions of you own, like maybe one decent question a month for free.
Cheers

Just posting to say that I agree with everything you’ve said.
I don’t understand why anyone would pay for that sort of thing, and I agree that they shouldn’t really be allowed to be in Google searches. -
…Or you can just scroll down to find the answer…

Hi there, just want to repeat what James said and say I too completely agree with you. Your rick rolling analogy is perfect! Every time I pose a question to Google, I’m like “ohhh what the hell??”
But isn’t it against Google’s policy to serve different content to search engines? I could of sworn that’s instant grounds for becoming black listed. What if we all repeatedly reported it to Google until they got banned?

I fully agree with you!
I was fully irritated by the searching result form Google linking to that stupid domain.
A short way would be use adblock and add the block to all expiiig-ugly.com.
Fuck you experts-exchange.com

I AGREE 100%. With all the free sites out there where people can get legitimate answers to questions, why does Experts Exchange even exist? It’s ridiculous. I get frustrated the same way — I need to look something up (like why Apache isn’t finding a module, whatever…) and I google it, and sure enough Experts Exchange comes up in the top answers.
Now the thing is, if you scroll their pages way down to the bottom, you can see the answers for free, which makes it even more of a scam.

Brillliant expose of experts exchange - I was able to see their ‘expert’ advice and it was as expected!
-
i dont think they heard you Matt …
You are right that google should not link to a page that doesn’t have the content … they dont!
in fact, the page does have the content … you just have to scroll all the way down!

Stop being such crybabies! Wipe away the tears and SCROLL down, you’ll find the answers for fucksake.

Maybe some lawyers could sue them for stealing other folks material or bait and switch. No tears here just looking for a way to pound these idiots into the ground.

Experts Exchange is a great resource. I agree that its not ideal for alot of people, but in business you want a place you can go, ask questions and get them answered quickly.
So what if they give you a link to Microsofts website or another free forum… You have your answer!!
I have an account which I use frequently. In order not to pay you have to accumulate 3000 points a month which means answering about 2 questions (sometimes more depending on the points assigned to the question and the proportion assigned to you and the quality of the answer) which the asker will assign points for when the solution is complete. I have never paid EE a penny and I have unlimited access to the site, and can ask as many questions as I wish.
They have moderaters which chase questions up if the solution is not found. The experts have an insentive to answer and follow up your questions due to the pointing system.
It is not a scam. It may not be for everyone though.

Yeah yeah, the answer is @ the bottom…
NOT THE POINT HERE!
experts-exchange should be banned from Google results, as they are flooding the search results with (mostly Crap) links, and try to make $$ off of people in a VERY dubious (if not illegal) way…
I say report the Fuckers:
